If your network doesn’t work, after checking your computer, network cables, however, you still cannot find the problem. Where is the problem?

I. Portable
Network testers are usually designed as handheld; Hobbes made a different change on the design of SMARTest. During the development, we conquered many difficulties to come up with the final product. The size is only 10.6 X 2 X 2.6cm, and only 55g weight.
II. Jack testing
SMARTest with removable remote unit, supports far end testing. Both main unit and remote unit are equipped with male and female RJ45 interface. Users can test cables before cabling, and test between jack and patch panel after cabling. Through the design of both male/female interfaces, SMARTest can help you with testing cables in the wall without tearing down.
III. LED indicators
The LED indicators on SMARTest main unit will show pin information in two phases. First, with green lights indicate if any faults occur. Second, SMARTest will tell you the fault condition of this testing cable with red light. As below
(i) Pass cable: If testing cable is pass, every indicator is green.
(ii) Faulty cable (as fig. 2-1, 2-2): If any pin is faulty, first, the faulty pin will show blinking green light, and then show faulty condition with red light. Press “TEST” button to show testing results again.
If there’s open pin, the corresponding LED will show no light.
IV. Tone generator
SMARTest (256653T) is equipped with analog tone generator, can pair up with Hobbes probe to trace cables. Press “TEST/TONE” button to switch mode, when the LED of “TONE” light up in red, you can start tracing cables.
V. Low battery indication
SMARTest uses 4 pcs LR44 batteries can be used for 1.5 hours. There will be a reminder when the batteries are low.
